Continuity

At its meetings in July and December 2000, the ALLC Committee committed itself to developing and maintaining the information developed during the ACO*Hum project as a service to its members and others interested in the appropriate role of advanced computing in humanities education, including teachers, administrators and current and prospective students, at undergraduate and masters levels.

At the December meeting, the Committee agreed to fund further work on the Knowledge Base during the calendar year 2001. The Committee members who participated in the ACO*Hum project, in particular in its Textual Scholarship and Humanities Computing Work Group, undertook to continue to monitor developments and to add new materials to this web site. Reports of updates and new activities will be published here from time to time.

The July and December meetings of the ALLC Committee also committed the Association to participation in further initiatives related to advanced computing in humanities education, for example a proposal for a new Thematic Network Project. Work on this is continuing.
